Very good. Now for everyone besides John, How did we have presidents before Washington that we did not hear of? I really want to just say it to show that I now have this wonderful knowledge but what fun would that be?
He wasn't President under the Constitution, and his title wasn't President of the United States. He was President of the Continental Congress. We had a series of "Presidents" both prior to and after the Articles of Confederation.
It was John Hanson. I understand things changed, but it is a shame they don't teach or talk about him or the other 6 Presidents before Washington.
