Article VI

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

  1. This is actually the 9th Amendment (IX). I like this one because it actually uses the word "people" rather than "individual", which currently affords "rights" to entities (Corporation, Groups, Unions, Parties, etc) other than human beings. It makes clear that the people are the final arbiter of their rights.
